We wanted to shoot a range of video content to show the close relationship between Milner Offroad and Derby Moutain Rescue and how the company have supported this busy and much needed charity.

We wanted to portray a loose narrative of a very standard rescue that the team encounter regularly. We had access to the rescue team and their two vehicles, both of which were fitted with Milner protective parts.

We wanted to shoot a range of video content to show the close relationship between Milner Offroad and Derby Moutain Rescue and how the company have supported this busy and much needed charity.

We wanted to portray a loose narrative of a very standard rescue that the team encounter regularly. We had access to the rescue team and their two vehicles, both of which were fitted with Milner protective parts.

The first challenge of the shoot was coordinating everyone’s schedules and making sure we had drawn up an extremely detailed and well thought out plan, locations and props. All while maintaining good communication with the team at Derby Mountain Resuce.

On the day of filming all three of us manned a camera but I (Alasdair) took on the role of directing the shoot which began at Milners HQ and culminated in nearby woodland. We needed to not only get a range of footage to illustrate the narrative of a rescue but also a wide range of shots of the fitted parts on each vehicle, especially in use. This meant moving alongside the 4x4s while they crossed over large rocks on an uneven track to show how the Milner Sump Protective Plate would work.

It was a fast paced shoot with a lot of directing and improvisation, not to mention it was winter and very cold! We wrapped just before adverse weather conditions set in.
